Media Studio
celebrates multi-award success:

Media Studio celebrated a clutch of awards last week at a
special lunch showcasing their many and varied projects in video,
photography and design.
Attended by special guests Chairman, Dr Mary Archer and
Chief Executive, Dr Gareth Goodier, many staff who have worked with
Media Studio joined the team to celebrate their award-winning projects.
These are some of the awards:
The Institute of Medical Illustrators (IMI) Awards
–
the UK's professional body for medical illustrators and
photographers

Media Studio received more awards than
any department in the country and was the only department to win three Gold
awards; one each in photography, graphic design and video production. In
addition to the three Gold awards, the department swept up no less than ten
Silver and 13 Bronze awards – these are some of them:

Platinum award for best in show
Video production on DVD for CUH's fundraising charity, ACT, and entitled,
The 2020 Vision Campaign – Making the World Better for Patients. The video
was a collaboration with ACT's fundraising team. Having won a Gold award in
its category the DVD went on to win the John Corney Video Award and the
Platinum Award, for best in show. See this in our

This is the second year running that Media Studio has won the Platinum award
– last year the award was given for the Nursing and Midwifery Strategy
produced in collaboration with Nursing and PR & Communications.

HeSCA awards
Media Studio's video work won the Health & Science Communications
Association's Gold award and the Holly Harrington-Lux award for creative
design, for the video for the Trust workshops Our Way – Living our values
and priorities.
The culmination of three months' work, involving the HR department, led by
Karen Clarke, the staff equality and diversity group, with Monica Jacot, and
with additional script advice from Lee Bennett and Mr Adil Aslam, the
workshop project was devised in collaboration with the Anne Frank Trust.
Media Studio worked with writer/director John Davies to script and produce
ten scenarios based on actual situations in the Trust.

BMA Patient Information awards
Men's Health Award
Media Studio won the Men's Health Award at the BMA Patient Information
Awards for designing and illustrating information for men with enlarged
prostate to help them make informed decisions about their treatment. This
information was developed as part of the Informed Decision Making Project
chaired by Dr Mary Archer.
