1. Who can use Media Studio's services?
 


Our services are primarily for staff on the Cambridge University Hospital site (see maps page)

We also do work for individuals who are not members of staff or who want work done for themselves.

2. Can I borrow a Data Projector?
 
Yes, please book one using the Audio-Visual Equipment Request form
There is no charge for this service.

3. Can I borrow a laptop?
 
Yes, we have two laptops available. To request one please use
the Audio-Visual Equipment Request form.
There is a £15 charge for this service per day per laptop.
Please note these laptops are not configured for network or internet use. They are intended for presentations using Powerpoint.

4. Can I borrow or buy a laser pointer?
 
We sell laser pointers and Presenter controllers but unfortunately we don't lend them out.

5. What are the dimensions of A0 paper? (all paper sizes given)
 
Here are the most common 'A' sizes of paper used:
  • A0 = 841 x 1189mm (33.11 x 46.81")
  • A1 = 594 x 841mm (23.39 x 33.11")
  • A2 = 420 x 594mm (16.54 x 23.39")
  • A3 = 297 x 420mm (11.69 x 16.54")
  • A4 = 210 x 297mm (8.27 x 11.69")

6. How do I book a meeting room?
 
Meeting rooms are booked through the Room Booking Service

9. How do I save my document as a PDF?
 
The best freely available software for creating PDF documents from any other document is PDFcreator which is available here:

http://www.pdfforge.org/

When installed you will have a new Printer installed on your PC.
To save your document as a PDF you simply Open your document as normal and select print from the menu and choose PDFcreator as the printer.

10. Can I have a proof copy?
 
If we are doing a poster for you then we offer a File Check & Proof service - click for details.

We also can do a proof copy of any other work we are doing.
There is no charge for this if it is part of graphic design work we are doing for you or is photocopy quality.
If it is on non standard paper or involves some preparation time there may be a charge.
