Farewell to Bob after 18 years

This week Media Studio says farewell to Bob Croft, who for the past eighteen years has been a familiar face around the Trust, providing support for audio-visual systems and coming to the aid of anyone who needed help with their presentation. Bob was chiefly responsible for equipping meeting and teaching rooms across the Trust with data projectors and easy-to-use switching systems.

CUH Chairman, Mike More, paid tribute on Wednesday to Bob’s long and dedicated service and particularly his contribution to the smooth running of cancer MDT meetings. One of Bob’s most important achievements was to develop and support videoconferencing systems for MDT meetings between different hospitals in the region. These meetings play an essential part in the diagnosis and decision making process for many specialities, but particularly for cancer patients.

Bob will be missed at CUH for his incisive troubleshooting skills, for his clear, stentorian voice overs in many of Media Studio’s video productions and for his long and detailed emails. He won’t, however, be retiring to a life of inactivity. With a busy family life, many travel plans, working on his beloved cars and motorbikes, singing and playing music, concerts and nights out at the theatre not a moment will be wasted.

We wish him every happiness in his retirement.
