A project featuring educational patient videos funded through Addenbrooke's Charitable Trust and produced by Media Studio for Dr Emma Nickerson, has been shortlisted in the finals of this year's Health Enterprise East Innovation awards.  The eight videos demonstrate the procedures for self-administration of different intravenous antibiotic/dose combinations, each followed by a patient testimonial. This project has so far helped to increase the numbers of patients on the Outpatient Parenteral Antimicrobial Therapy (OPAT) service who administer their own intravenous antibiotics by 57%, saving over £250,000 in community nurse staff time.
