Prime Minister visits CUH

Prime Minister Theresa May paid a visit to Cambridge University Hospitals today to meet with the Oncology team and see the latest in radiotherapy facilities. Mrs May was announcing plans for £75 million funding for research into Prostate cancer. 

She met with CEO Roland Sinker, Chairman Mike More, and Chief Nurse Anne-Marie Ingle before sitting down for a private meeting that included Heidi Allen, MP for South Cambridgeshire, James Palmer, Elected Mayor for Cambridgeshire and Peterborough, Nicola Ayton, CUH Director of Strategy and Richard Gilbertson, CUH Head of Oncology and Director of the CRUK Cambridge Centre.

In the Radiotherapy Centre Mrs May met with Hugo Ford, Divisional Director, Raj Jena, Principal Research Associate (University of Cambridge) and Consultant Oncologist, Yvonne Rimmer Consultant Ocologist and prostate cancer specialist, and some of the radiotherapy team.The Prime Minister's final meeting was with a group of senior medical and nursing leaders in the Trust.
